"Structured Sophistication" The concept for Hammerson was to redefine the corporate environment by blending executive luxury with high-performance functionality. We moved away from the traditional "cold" office feel, instead using a palette of deep walnuts, brushed brass, and book-matched marble to create a space that feels more like a private members' club than a workspace. The lighting was engineered to highlight architectural lines while maintaining a warm, professional ambiance.

The Challenge

The main challenge was the integration of high-level acoustic privacy within a layout that utilized extensive glass and hard surfaces. We had to seamlessly hide complex HVAC and smart-office automation systems within custom-crafted joinery and ceiling baffles to ensure that the clean, minimalist lines of the design remained uninterrupted by technical eyesores.

The Design Process

Workflow Mapping: Analyzing department interactions to create a layout that balances open-plan collaboration with secluded executive suites. Material Integration: Selecting materials that offer high durability for a commercial setting without sacrificing the premium, tactile feel of a luxury interior. Bespoke Joinery: Designing custom furniture pieces, including the signature executive desks and integrated storage walls, to maximize space efficiency. Lighting Strategy: Implementing a layered lighting scheme that transitions from task-oriented brightness to evening "gallery" lighting.
