Iconic Commercial & Retail Landmark
"The Infinite Loop" Inspired by the dynamic movement of the desert winds and the fluidity of Qatar’s coastline, the Spiral concept represents continuous innovation. The building’s form is not just aesthetic; it is a functional gesture where the structure itself creates its own shading and outdoor terraces. By breaking away from the traditional vertical "box," we created a silhouette that shifts its profile from every angle, symbolizing a city that is always in motion.

The primary technical challenge involved the complex geometry of the exterior "ribs" and the glass curtain wall. Engineering a curved facade in a high-heat environment required advanced parametric modeling to ensure structural stability while maintaining the seamless, spiraling aesthetic. We had to calculate precise solar angles to position the external louvers so they maximize natural light while significantly reducing the building’s cooling load.

The Design Process

Parametric Modeling: Using computational design to generate the spiral form and ensure every floorplate maintains maximum usable space. Environmental Simulation: Running wind and thermal tests to adapt the exterior "skin" to the specific climatic conditions of Qatar. Material Innovation: Utilizing ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) and specialized reflective glazing to achieve the smooth, white finish seen in the renders. Structural Integration: Designing a central core that supports the eccentric loading of the spiraling floor levels without the need for intrusive perimeter columns.
